Our Healing Gift

July 31, 2018

"In a futile attempt to erase our past, we deprive the community of our healing gift. If we conceal our wounds out of fear and shame, our inner darkness can neither be illuminated nor become a light for others." - Brennan Manning

Our path did not make us who we are; our past is who we are.  This does not mean that we get lost in the pain (if there is any).  It means that we share our wounds; that we bring them into the light to bring hope to others.  In a world where most people pretend that they have no wounds we deny the gift of listening to others who need to feel safe with someone—someone who understands because they have been wounded themselves.  And in the sharing, in the creating of space and grace for others, we, too, are healed, our wounds become beacons of the Love that makes us all whole.  May it be so.  Namaste

Gentle Thoughts:  How do you feel about your woundedness?  Can it be a gift to others, if not today, then perhaps, tomorrow?
