The Treasure You Seek

"The cave you fear to enter holds the treasure you seek." - Joseph Campbell

You stand in front of a cave that appears to be dark and who knows how deep. In many of the “tours” through the large caves of the world, at one point all light is briefly extinguished to illustrate the total and complete darkness where no light shines.  The reality of that darkness is almost difficult to grasp.  We strain our eyes—surely there is light somewhere.

Campbell calls us to confront our fear of entering the cave to explore and mine the utter darkness for all that we long to be.  Our yearning for wholeness propels us to enter the long tunnels of uncertainty to find the gifts that we already have—gifts that have remained hidden until our desire for the sacred within overcomes all that would deny us the courage to finally free the light of the divine that shines in our hearts and beckons us to be all that we were created to be.  Namaste

Gentle Thoughts:  Are you standing in front of a cave today?
