Loving the Unlovable

April 1, 2018

"To love means loving the unlovable. To forgive means pardoning the unpardonable. Faith means believing the unbelievable. Hope means hoping when everything seems hopeless." ~ Gilbert K. Chesterton

We have just come through a season where at least two major religions re-examine what their faith means to them.  While it may not be the same answer for everyone, one thing is true—love is at the center of All. There. Is.  Loving those who are hard to love or who don’t even want to be loved is at the center of all that we are.  Forgiving those whose “sins” seem beyond the pale of what should be forgiven gets harder yet.  Asking ourselves to believe in that which we cannot see and cannot know by the limits of our ego speaking pushes us beyond what is comfortable and hoping when everything seems hopeless is one of the hardest things that makes us human.  But this is love and this is what our soul yearns for us to do.  We must be love and that being love compels us to act in love.  And may it be well with your soul.  Namaste

Gentle Thoughts:  How can you “act in love” today?
