Healing and Letting Go

January 25, 2018

Healing may not be so much about getting better, as about letting go of everything that isn’t you – all of the expectations, all of the beliefs – and becoming who you are.~ Rachel Naomi Remen

When we hurt, we may strive to “get better”, to hurt less, to get back to normal (whatever that is for you).  Perhaps there is another way to experience healing.  Perhaps if we allow the hurt to just remain, gently held in our heart, we can move on to exploring what is behind that hurt.  Even in grief we find ourselves thinking, “now I am no longer a daughter, or son, or sister or brother”.  As we heal, we begin to wrap our loving arms around those thoughts and find our way through them.  And in doing so, we begin to let go of all that we attached to those relationships—be they to people, jobs, relationships, or things.  In the letting go of all that does not truly belong in who we really are, we step into a new relationship with ourselves and revel in the perfect and whole person that we are.  And so it is.  Namaste

Gentle Thoughts:  Do you carry hurts in your heart today that hold you back from experiencing the deepest you?  What would it take for you to begin to let go of all that isn’t really you?
