Patience

Have patience with all things, But, first of all with yourself. --Saint Francis de Sales

First, we learn patience as a general principle, most often through heartache, pain, or confusion.  And only then, in some small part—do we begin to learn the nature of patience with ourselves.  Most of us are not automatically patient people although we may grow more so as we become spiritually aware.  Rushing this process, however, is neither possible or useful.  In fact, there is only insight to be lost in refusing to allow the intention of the Universe to play out in our lives when we push for an easier answer or path.  If it is our intention to live our lives to the fullest, we must allow for time as our hearts open and develop and our spirits mature and become transformed.  This grants us the ability to be fully present in the current moment as we trust the process that unfolds within our lives.  If we find ourselves attempting to rush in our desire for deeper and deeper awareness of our truest hearts, we can instead invite ourselves to back to the present moment.  We can, in fact, come home.  And so it is.  Namaste

Gentle Thoughts:  Where are you on the continuum of patience?  Is it easy or had to trust the process and presence that is unfolding in your life?
