Since we desire the true happiness that is brought about by a calm mind, and such peace of mind arises only from having a compassionate attitude, we need to make a concerted effort to develop compassion. ~ The Dalai Lama
Books about the “key to happiness” fill the shelves of self-help books in every bookstore. Although it might not be a block-buster idea, it seems a simple one. Our compassionate attitude extended to others will eventually expand to ourselves giving us the peace of mind, the calmness of spirit, and the hope of heartfulness that we so desire. Developing compassion simply means learning to pause, to think, most importantly to feel the lovingkindness that is waiting in every soul to flourish and bring joy to the one who receives it and the one who gives it. Why make it so difficult? If we resolve to find that compassion that lives not so deep in our hearts, we will have more happiness than all the books in the world can offer us. And so it is. Namaste
