Let Your Kindness Rain Down
As the rain falls on the just and unjust alike, let your heart be untroubled by judgments and let your kindness rain down on all. ~ Buddha
We must face the fact that when we listen to our hearts, there is a faint stirring of pain when we judge another human being. We may tell ourselves that they are worthy of our negative judgment and perhaps they are; but we must not forget the damage we do to our own souls as well as to theirs when we let negativity toward a person take over. This is ever so hard a lesson to learn. It may be because we have been judged in our own lives and we have wandered onto that path where negativity seems normal. To stop judging others brings a certain kind of dissonance to what we may have experienced and participated in our entire lives. What must first occur is to stop ourselves before we, in our lack or awareness, start down that path without thinking. This is very hard work for most of us and very important work at that. Namaste
Gentle Thoughts: Is there just one person today about whom you can replace your former judgement with kindness? If so, you set your own heart at ease as well.
