“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.” ~Ralph Waldo Emerson
We live in a world that forces us to look at “what else we could be”. We could look younger, we could be stronger, thinner, run faster, or use better medicine. It takes effort to one way or another turn that all of. The easiest way would be to turn it all off, unplug if you will and some people, probably some of the healthiest people in the world do just that. But for those of us who have not yet found that resolve, there are other things we can do. We can look in the mirror and be pleased with what we see. We may not be perfect, but our faces are filled with kindness, with love. We can look at our bodies with gratitude for all the years they have carried us in one way or another. We can look at each other and help our friends see themselves for all that they are, for the love that emanates from them and for all they mean to the world. We can choose to be ourselves and to say “no” to the false yearnings that come from outside. Most of all, we can listen to our inner hearts and follow what our souls are calling us to, what passion is pushing us on, and what love we can spread in the world. Then we will truly be ourselves in all our glory, struggle and endless opportunity for deeper and deeper consciousness about how Spirit lives within us and loves us just as we are. Namaste
