“Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play in and pray in, where nature may heal and give strength to body and soul.” —John Muir
Mere physical food will not fill our lives with beauty and truth. We need beauty, and joy and renewal. We need healing from life’s hurts and grace for life’s difficulties. We need places to go where we can find silence and awaken to what our inner silence longs to bring to our hearts, our bodies, and our souls. Many of us find those spots in nature, even if nature is a bouquet of flowers bought at a street side vendor and displayed on a simple table. Many of us are gifted with the gift of the ability to find our ways into the depths of gentle forests where the branches of great trees draw us upward calling us to visualize the Eternal, just as their roots pull us downward to feel the nurturing mother of the earth sends her energy spiraling up through our souls. Whatever the case, celebrate what nature you have and revel in the presence of intricate petals and majestic branches of greenness. Namaste.
Gentle Thoughts: Even in your imagination, can you reconnect with all that nature longs to give to her children?
