And the world cannot be discovered by a journey of miles, no matter how long, but only by a spiritual journey, a journey of one inch, very arduous and humbling and joyful, by which we arrive at the ground at our own feet, and learn to be at home.--Wendell Berry
It’s difficult to accept sometimes how long we spent looking outside of ourselves for our spiritual home. We went on retreats; we may have spent much money; or we may have travelled from one speaker to the next looking for something that would bring us to our hearts. Now, there is nothing wrong with adding many expressions of spirituality, and doing so helps us grow; and, more importantly, learn more and more about ourselves. But the real journey takes place by looking deeply inside, which can result in many feelings. We may feel it is too hard or too painful; but eventually, if we do not fail to recognize that the Sacred resides within us since we are one with the Sacred, we will find our “home”. The yearning of your heart is to lovingly embrace our journey until we find ourselves at “home”. Namaste
Gentle Thoughts: The path to your spiritual “home” lies within. What lies at the ground of your feet?
