Every Aspect of My Life

As I look back at the entire tapestry of my life, I can see from the perspective of the present moment that every aspect of my life was necessary and perfect. Each step eventually led to a higher place, even though these steps often felt like obstacles or painful experiences.--Wayne Dyer

While walking this tender journey toward healing and wholeness, most of us have encountered more than one detour. We may try to banish those detours from the “tapestry” of our lives until we realize not only the futility of such an effort, but also the value these detours play in our lives as we grow and change. Now, that does not mean that we look back and say, “well, that was not so hard”, because some of it was really, really hard. But, all of these detours impacted who we are today. They do not determine or define our current lives, but they do inform them; and, lead us forward into a new and exciting understanding of the present moment. It is likely that we will take detours again. Most of us do. Perhaps the next time we will recognize them a little sooner; and come to appreciate their purpose in our lives with kindness and gentleness for ourselves. May it be so. Namaste

Gentle Thoughts: Are you perhaps on a “detour” today? What can you learn from where you find yourself today?`
