On this sacred path of Radical Acceptance, rather than striving for perfection, we discover how to love ourselves into wholeness.--Tara Brach
Many of us are open or secret perfectionists. Sometimes we give others second chances but not ourselves. Most of us have made some (maybe many) mistakes along the way and we have a hard time accepting our own humanity. More than once we may have been asked where we got this idea that we could be perfect, that we would never be truly human. Isn’t it part of the human condition that we make mistakes, start over, go back to the drawing board, etc.? Learning to accept ourselves as we truly are is the path to what Brach calls “Radical Acceptance”. We may not like this part of the journey on our path toward maturity but it is, indeed, one of the most important turning points that we must confront on our way to truly embracing the profound nature of divinity that integrates our imperfections into the whole and complete people that we are called to be. And so it is. Namaste
