“People from a planet without flowers would think we must be mad with joy the whole time to have such things about us.-- Iris Murdoch
We take our planet for granted in so many ways. We circumvent the joy and rapture that is ours for the taking by filling our minds and hearts with things that really don’t matter at all. We march on, ignoring the beauty that is all around us. Even the barest desert has waves that have been made by the wind blowing across. There is nowhere we can look and not find some small spark of beauty. Is it any wonder that children run breathlessly through fields of flowers because they still have room for beauty? What if we could do the same as adults, carving out a space to sit and wonder, walk through a forest in awe, or dangle our feet in a calm, serene lake. There remains time for us to be “mad with joy” if we get ourselves of the way and see what the Universe has placed in front of us today. Namaste
Gentle Thoughts: How can you be “mad with joy” for a few moments today?
