It’s is a transformative experience to simply pause instead of immediately filling up the space. By waiting, we begin to connect with a fundamental restlessness as well as a fundamental spaciousness.—Pema Chödrön ~~
Waiting…for answers, for security, for inner peace. When we feel empty, we long to fill the space as quickly as we race to fill up a silent moment in a conversation less someone feel uncomfortable. In the spaces, however, no matter the level of discomfort, we begin to allow ourselves to find ourselves first in restlessness and then in spaciousness. The restlessness is hard to tolerate; it takes practice to sit and wait. This is existential waiting for our souls to mature until the restlessness brings a certain kind of joy and peace. From there, an only from there, do we move to the spaciousness that allows us to know that we are part of It All; that we dissolve into the vast ocean of Energy that is Love itself. And so it is. Gentle Thoughts: Are you restless today? Can you encourage your heart to wait for that which you yearn?
